Plant Camp: Colorado & Michigan
Rooted Apothecary Presents
Plant Camp Summer 2026
Two weekend herbal immersions, two landscapes, one invitation to return to the plants.
This summer, Plant Camp returns with two deeply rooted herbal immersions, each offering a different way to connect with wild plants, herbalism, medicine making, foraging, self-care, and the land.
One camp takes us into the mountains of Colorado, where the focus is on plant connection, sustainability, self-reliance, and learning directly from the wild places plants call home.
The other brings us to the Michigan Herbal Homestead, where we move from garden to remedy, from bloom to bottle, and explore what it means to live an herbal lifestyle from the ground up.
Choose Your Plant Camp
Colorado is rugged, intuitive, elemental, and rooted in wild mountain landscapes.
Michigan is abundant, creative, and grounded in the bloom-to-bottle rhythm of the homestead.

Plant Camp: Mountain Medicine + Self-Reliance
Between Crested Butte and Paonia, Colorado
Step into the high country and remember what it feels like to learn directly from the land. We will be camping for 2 nights with 3 full days of learning. It is about 45 minutes+ from any of the nearby towns of Crested Butte, Gunnison, or Paonia, CO, so accommodations are best on-site camping.
This experience takes place across alpine forests, open meadows, and rugged terrain, where the landscape itself becomes our teacher. We will learn to observe, identify, and work with plants as they naturally grow, building awareness, respect, and relationship.
This weekend invites a deeper sense of self-reliance as an herbalist, learning how to meet your needs with what is around you, how to craft simple, potent remedies, and how to trust your own intuition with plants.
We will spend our days:
- Walking mountain landscapes and learning plants in their native habitat
- Practicing ethical harvesting and sustainability in wild environments
- Making herbal medicines to take home, crafted in the field
- Exploring wild food preparation using foraged plants
- Exploring plant energetics and intuitive skills
- Integrating herbal self-care and daily ritual
- Exploring a gentle introduction to building your own apothecary or farmstand
One evening, we will gather for a Rooted Apothecary spa night, slowing down with herbal body care, warm towels, oils, and simple rituals that bring the medicine of the plants back into the body.
This is not a classroom, it is an immersion shaped by the elements. Expect shifting weather, long walks, wild flavors, and a deeper connection to the plants that thrive without cultivation.

Plant Camp: Bloom to Bottle Herbal Immersion
Michigan Herbal Homestead, Metamora
This experience is rooted in cultivation, both of plants and of your own path.
Held on my Michigan herbal homestead, this weekend moves through the rhythm of tending, harvesting, and creating with intention. Here, plants are not only found, they are grown, nurtured, and brought fully into form. We will be camping for 2 nights with 3 full days of learning, options for places to stay at an Airbnb or hotels can be searched online near Metamora, Michigan.
From bloom to bottle, you will experience the full cycle of working with plants, from garden beds and flowering rows to crafting remedies and botanical creations for everyday use.
You will learn not only how to work with plants, but how to grow them, process them, and potentially share or sell them in a way that feels aligned and sustainable.
We will spend our days:
- Walking the land, exploring cultivated gardens and surrounding wild edges
- Harvesting from the garden and learning timing, technique, and care
- Making herbal medicines to take home, including teas, oils, tinctures, and body care
- Working with flowers through a hands-on floristry segment using homegrown blooms
- Practicing herbal self-care and daily ritual
- Exploring a gentle introduction to building your own apothecary or farmstand
- Weaving herbalism into lifestyle, land-based living, or business
One evening, we will gather for a Rooted Apothecary spa night, incorporating herbal facials, oils, and simple self-care rituals using the plants we have been working with throughout the weekend.
This camp carries a slower, grounded rhythm, centered around beauty, process, and the experience of bringing plants from soil to finished creation.
