Back Off Bugs Spray - Rooted’s essential oil blend of juniper, citronella, lemongrass, and lemon eucalyptus is versatile and pleasing to the human nose while keeping the mosquitos far away. Here are some ways you can utilize this bug-stopper. Spritz on before heading into the buggy wild! With a base of sweet clover, yarrow, and sage, this spray helps to relieve inflammation as well. Apply as needed to keep the bugs backed off.
Back Off Bugs Candle
- Our candles are made with organic soy wax and a potent-to-the-mosquitos amount of the Back off Bugs proprietary essential oil blend. You can choose the smaller option to take on the go, protecting your campsites as you travel, or grab a large size and use it to keep the bugs off your deck all summer!
Back Off Bugs Essential Oil - Use the essential oil blend on its own in a diffuser, or mix a few drops into your daily body cream to give it a bug-stopping boost.
PRO-TIP: Wanna make your own bug spray?
Grab a bottle of vodka, or rubbing alcohol, and a small spray bottle.
Fill your bottle with alcohol, and add 10-12 drops of our Back Off Bugs essential oil blend per each ounce of alcohol. Shake well, and get outside to frolic bug-free.
Sun Block - This Sun Block uses zinc oxide and titanium dioxide to protect your skin from sunburn while utilizing mango butter, shea butter, jojoba and coconut oil to heal and moisturize. Unlike drugstore sunscreens which often have irritants in them, your skin will feel soft and hydrated with daily use.
Sun & Bug Block - Double the protection in one dreamy cream. The same sun block base with our Back off Bugs essential oil blend included right in there. A chemical-free alternative to traditional bug sprays and sunscreens safe for the whole family!
Sunshine Lips - Not to brag or anything, but Briana has done it. She has encapsulated sunshine into a product. This lip balm reminds me of summer camp and the beach, while creating a layer of lip-healing sun protection with zinc and titanium.
Who among us hasn’t ventured into the woods and forgotten either sun protection, bug protection, or both? It happens to the best of us. For the days when you get home with a wicked sunburn and 60 mosquito bites, we’ve got you.
Ditch the Itch - The itch? Ditch it. Instead of chewing plantain leaves into a poultice (which actually also works wonders), spot-treat bites with this plantain, rose, uva-ursi & alumroot infused safflower oil. This oil is anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-microbial, and astringent. You’ll find yourself itchin’ to reapply it about 2-3 times per day.
Aloe Vera is a well-known, long-used sunburn remedy. This cream uses aloe Butter and aloe distillate with white and pink kaolin clay to calm and heal the skin alongside marshmallow root and hyaluronic acid for maximum hydration. Aloe & Mallow is wonderful as a daily facial moisturizer as well.
PRO-TIP: keep Aloe & Mallow in your fridge for extra cooling power, and use our
Mountain Ice Globes
straight out of the freezer to the ultimate cool down while getting the skin soothing ingredients deeper into your skin-cells.
While I may have quite the list of essentials for the Summer, one that is an absolute non-negotiable is hydration, try making a batch of our Rosie Posey Tea which is full of demulcent and cooling herbs. Ice it before you leave and enrich your body with herbs while staying hydrated! If you’re going out for an adventure, be sure to bring plenty of water and clothing such as a hat and a dry-fit shirt for sun protection. And if you’re adventuring in Colorado, stop by our Crested Butte or Gunnison shop to say hello and pick up any of these Summer essentials! Happy frolicking!
