WILDCRAFTING TIPS
- Learn to identify poisonous or toxic plants in your area first.
- Always practice sustainable wildcrafting ethics and follow the Leave No Trace principles.
- Only harvest from areas where you can see over 100 of the same plants, taking only 10% from each group.
- Avoid taking whole plants unless necessary; harvest only what you need and always refill holes when digging roots.
- Shake mushrooms or seed heads to disperse spores and seeds, and use clean cuts instead of ripping them out of the earth.
- Collect in mesh, baskets, or paper bags to allow mushrooms to release spores and plants to breathe.
- Revisit the same areas each season to track changes and ensure you are contributing positively to the environment.
