Common mallow (Malva neglecta) and hollyhocks can be used in the same ways as our medicinal marshmallow plant. Utilized for its demulcent (moistening and slippery) properties. Demulcent herbs are the best for complaints of dryness. Signs of dryness: dry eyes, lips, hands, feet, or other body parts, constipation, itchy skin, chronic bladder infections, leaky gut or IBS, dry cough, sore throat, and nosebleeds.
