Sambucus Nigra
Sambucus nigra
Elder is a shrubby tree with berries and flowers we use for herbal medicine—and skincare! Both berries and flowers are great in supporting the function of the immune system. Berries are sweet, and are best used at the onset of a cold, or during an illness to help fight off a virus or infection. Flowers are considered a nervine, which means they are calming to the nervous system. They aid in chilling out the body both mentally and temperature-wise when a fever is present. Flowers are also wonderful in skincare as they help to provide a clear complexion.
