The idea behind Rooted Apothecary was first planted well over a decade ago, when owner and Herbalist Briana Wiles began wildcrafting her own remedies from the medicinal plants found right in her own backyard.
With a strong passion for keeping toxic products out of the home — along with the deep knowledge she had of plant medicine, medicinal herbs, and wildcrafted ingredients — Briana’s herbal apothecary first took root at local farmers markets, where she could share her herbal remedies and holistic solutions with those in her Colorado community.
Ten years later and those roots have just kept growing — leading to two bustling retail stores in the Colorado Mountains and a thriving online shop.
With her herbal remedies and holistic solutions now found in homes across the globe, it’s safe to say that Rooted Apothecary shows no signs of slowing down.
For centuries, traditional herbalists have crafted natural remedies to promote health and wellness. Today, plant medicine remains potent — providing healing and relief that’s been passed down through generations before. At Rooted Apothecary, we believe in unlocking this potential — sourcing only the most powerful medicinal plants and herbs to make natural remedies that relieve any everyday ailment.
From teas to tinctures, essential oils to elixirs, skin care products to salves, we use ingredients that are organic and wildcrafted, ensuring they are of the highest quality and purity. We recognize the power these ingredients have to soothe, heal, and nourish our minds, bodies, and souls. Our herbal apothecary’s mission is to help you unlock the healing potential of plant medicine. So you can live a long, vibrant, revitalized life.
Hey there, I’m Briana!
I’m a wife, mother, author, teacher and, of course, founder and owner of Rooted Apothecary.
I began studying herbalism and bodywork as a teenager, on a mission of self healing and discovery. By the time I was 18, I’d finished massage school, and was plotting my way westward for schooling in Structural Integration (also known as Rolfing) and my continued yearning for
learning herbs.
I landed in Colorado at 20, and haven't left since!
At 24 I circled back around to find that my main herb teacher, Jim McDonald, was located only 30 minutes away from where I grew up in Michigan. From there, my herbal and wild food journey exploded and I dove in head first.
I’m now sharing my love of herbal medicine and botany with the world.
At Rooted Apothecary, we value ancient wisdom and plant science in equal measure. We believe in the power of nature to heal, to nourish, and to provide us with comfort.
Our mission is to make natural remedies accessible to everyone, so that everyone can benefit from the healing properties of our organic and wildcrafted plants and herbs. We take great care to ensure that our products are free from synthetic additives and toxins, so that their natural healing power is preserved.
We want to bring an ancient wisdom into the modern world, to show that what we put on our skin and in our bodies makes a difference in our well-being. We are proud to provide a more natural and healthy alternative to chemical-based treatments, and we strive to heal you and your family naturally.
